When your interview contains an annoying bit of sound (such as a cough or a “click”), what can you do? With Audacity, it is possible to simply remove that snippet of sound.
- Zoom in on the waveform (CTRL+1) where the annoying bit of sound lives
- Highlight the part of the waveform that you want to remove – remove as little of the waveform as possible
- Press the “Delete” key or use CTRL+X
- Test the playback. You can always “undo” and then “redo” until you find the right amount
