:: Audacity Tips & Tutorials -> How to Adjust Sound Of A Recorded Interview Using Audacity
When your interviewee lets her voice drop towards the end of a great quote, what can you do? With Audacity, it is possible to boost (amplify) that snippet of sound.
- Highlight the part of the waveform that needs a boost
- Select “Effect” from the menu and then select “Amplify”
- Pick an amplification number: with experience, you’ll know how much amplification is needed. You can always “undo” and then “redo” until you find the right amount
- Understand that this amplification will also increase the volume of any background sound/noise
