WordPress is a powerful blogging platform and content management system created by Matt Mullenweg and Mike Little. Automattic operates their free service, WordPress.com. WP.com is an easy entry into the world of digital publishing. WordPress.com is a hosted service, so you don't have to worry about managing servers or downtime. Every WordPress theme comes pre-set with a default menu that is, usually, based on how you structure your pages. Some have drop-downs to show secondary pages (children) but some only show top-level pages.
