It’s not your imagination; the RSS feed icon has not been resurrected on Twitter accounts or search results. But you can roll your own, since it appears Twitter doesn’t plan to reintegrate the feed into its design.
For searches, start with advanced search.
The pattern for the search-based feed is
- http://search.twitter.com/search.atom?q=search%20term
- http://search.twitter.com/search.rss?q=search%20terms
You can copy and paste the relevant search terms from the URL of the search query if you are using a complex search. For example, here is the URL for @scobleizer (from this account) and Google (all of these words): https://twitter.com/#!/search/realtime/google%20from%3Ascobleizer
The feed for this search:
- http://search.twitter.com/search.rss?q=search%20google%20from%3Ascobleizer
For an RSS feed of an individual’s timeline:
- Example: http://twitter.com/statuses/user_timeline/kegill.rss
If you want to keep a record of your (or someone else’s) personal favorites:
- http://twitter.com/favorites/kegill.rss
Finally, to create an RSS feed for a Twitter list, this is the syntax:
- http://api.twitter.com/1/kegill/lists/seattlewomen/statuses.atom
