Social Slideshows

I’ve just opened an account at Slideshare, a social content site that’s getting a lot of buzz. It allows you to embed your slides in a blog post, tag slideshows, easily share with friends. Use it to create a conference website — or share slides from classes.

The process is, I’d think, server intensive. After uploading your PPT files, the Slideshare server wraps the slides in a Flash wrapper. Somehow, you can permalink an individual slide. (Cool!) They’re using  Ruby on Rails, MySQL, and Amazon Web Services.

I’m waiting on my class slides from tonight to be processed. Will post a link …
