Blog Action Day, 15 October 2008, is an annual nonprofit event designed to unite the world’s bloggers, podcasters and videocasters to discuss the same issue on the same day. Think of it as something like an intellectual flash mob. You don’t have to sign up to participate, but right now there are 2,305 sites registered.

This year, the topic is poverty. In 2007, it was the environment. (tip)

  1. One aspect which a community organize and act is exemplified in Pierce County Washington where today, October 15th, Pierce County Project Homeless Connect literally “connects” those in poverty and homeless with free food, medical care, veteran support, mental health services, dental care, haircuts, food stamps, flu shots, HIV testing, TB testing, Pneumonia shots, Hepatitus B shots and other support services vitally necessary. Visit Pierce County Project Homeless Connect and learn more & watch a PSA via YouTube which brought together community representatives in Pierce County to say ” we can stop homelessness ” and provide support for those impoverished.
