Great slides from your Gnomedex talk; I found that my own IT dept had limited, if any, awareness of blogs or podcasting. I am trying to use a weblog for summer reading discussion and had incorporatede most of your suggestions (grading guidelines, number of posts, etc). So far, only 2 out of 65 students participating. It is a slow-go to find acceptance. Thanks for validating the medium, we need more of it.

Great slides! I just wanted to note that, in spite of its reputation as a teenybopper hideout, you might want to check out the structure of livejournal (<a href="http://www.livejournal.com)." rel="nofollow">http://www.livejournal.com).</a> It's "friend's page" function is truly fantastic; an RSS reader built right in! It also keeps better stats than most systems I've seen (counting posts and comments and such). It still needs to be massaged to create stats for instructors, but the system is open source and it could be done quite easily.

Thanks for sharing the slides!
